The Cottages sober living for women has provided affordable housing for those in recovery since 2004. Located in Huntington Beach, California, our sober living environment provides support and structure for those who are in their first year of sobriety. Whether integrating back into society through employment, volunteering, attending school, or receiving outpatient treatment services, The Cottages will help you achieve your goals by providing the perfect setting for early recovery.
Getting Serious About Recovery
We take providing a safe & inspirational setting for recovery very seriously. The staff at The Cottages works closely with the guests to help them thrive in recovery. There is structure at The Cottages that requires the women who live there to take an active role in their recovery ‘program’ so that they grow and continue hitting consecutive sobriety milestones. Huntington Beach, also known as Surf City USA, is world-renowned for its eight-mile-long stretch of ocean along Pacific Coast Highway, offering residents the chance to enjoy sunny southern California weather year-round.
The city hosts a variety of events and activities including yearly surfing competitions, volleyball tournaments, and bicycling trails along Huntington Beach’s boardwalk and the Santa Ana River. Dog Beach provides a mile-long stretch exclusively for dogs to play. Additional popular activities in the area include golf and disc golf, both located in Huntington Beach Central Park, which also houses the Equestrian Center for horseback riding, a Dog Park, and the Huntington Beach Central Library. The library is home to the Huntington Beach Playhouse, which hosts seasonal plays. Huntington Beach Central Park, the largest city-owned park in Orange County, covers 350 acres and offers amenities like duck ponds, outdoor concerts during the summer, a nature center, and extensive walking paths.

AMENITIES & ACCOMMODATIONS
The Cottages Sober Living by Orange County Recovery in Huntington Beach provides recovering guests with an alcohol and drug-free living environment that are governed by a uniform standard set of practices. The rules of conduct are explained upon entry which include house rules, curfews, drug testing schedule, meeting requirements, chores, and respect for the environment and other house guests, and where an understanding of zero-tolerance for alcohol and drug use is established. Peer Coordinators are present as role models to help in this process as well as care for the safety and cleanliness of the home.
Our Women’s home is structured, clean, and centrally located close to public transportation, outpatient treatment service, places of employment, colleges, neighborhood parks, and stores that provide necessary amenities. This sober environment offers the structure, support, accountability, and life skills that are required to build a firm foundation for a productive life. The Head of Household and Peer Coordinators help provide a safe and comfortable environment by enforcing house rules; otherwise, guests may backslide at this most critical point in their healing process. Ongoing support from both peers and Peer Coordinators helps individuals transition into productive lives.

REQUIREMENTS
• Remain drug and alcohol free; drug testing required.
• Follow the 12-step program and work with a sponsor/spiritual adviser.
• Follow house rules.
• Attend at least three 12-step meetings per week and all weekly house meetings.
• All guests of our women’s home must be either attend treatment, work or look for work, volunteer, attend school, or do something productive to positively enhance their future. It is our experience that unstructured idle time can be a cause for relapse as well as stunting one’s progress.
